North Cascades Institute: Graduate Program Coordinator

Full Time, exempt (salaried) position. The Graduate Program Coordinator supervises and mentors graduate students during their 12-month residency at North Cascades Institute. The Graduate Coordinator is based at North Cascades Environmental Learning Center, located on Diablo Lake in North Cascades National Park, WA. FAMILY CAREGIVER SUPPORT SPECIALIST:

Northwest Regional Council, as an Area Agency on Aging, funds and/or provides community-based programs to help people live in their own homes and communities for as long as possible, postponing or eliminating the need for institutional care. The Family Caregiver Support Specialist provides outreach, assistance, and ongoing support to unpaid family caregivers of older adults and people with disabilities.

This position provides ongoing assessment, education, and consultation services to family caregivers as their needs change; authorizes Respite Care and other services; and provides clients and the local community information about available resources, encouraging and facilitating their participation. TechAdapt, Inc., a leader in the production of accessible media for print-disabled students, have an immediate opening for a full-time Production Coordinator/Accessible Media Developer. Production Coordinator job responsibilities include scheduling and tracking of work from publishers, scheduling of telecommute workers, electronic packaging of completed work materials and transmission to clients, archival of completed work projects, and scanning and OCR of print materials as needed. As production coordination duties allow, candidates will also assist in the production of XML/HTML-based accessible media. Production coordination duties are performed in a home office setting; accessible media development can be done in-house or on a telecommute basis.

This position requires the following skills:

  • Strong Windows computer skills (experience with Mac OS X also desired, but not necessary)
  • Ability to spend extended periods working at a computer
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Very good interpersonal, communication and time management skills
  • String ability to manage/track multiple concurrent projects and to develop strategies for managing schedule deviations
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Word and Excel tools

Experience with Adobe Acrobat Professional/Standard, Adobe InDesign, OCR programs, XML or HTML/CSS is a definite plus.
